![]() Idaherma Williams was born in New York City and moved to Philadelphia PA as a child. She won a Board of Education four-year Art Scholarship to the University of the Arts, earned her BFA degree, and later attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a Master of Fine Arts Degree. Idaherma always enjoyed the relief process; her early work used linoleum block, and later woodblock printing. She combines images of city and country life using these elements in her work. Recently, she has begun the digital archival pigment prints and has exhibited them worldwide. She prints her woodblock prints by hand using a Japanese baren and her pigment prints using an archival Epson 1800 printer. She exhibits throughout the United States and abroad. Her one-artist Show in London, UK, 2005, was the Twelve Labors of Hercules woodblock prints at the Lennox Gallery, UK. Sponsored by the Lucis Trust. Other series of work have won prizes and exhibitions. In 2004 she won the National Association of Women Artists Medal of Honor in Graphics.
