From the artist:
"Do you follow a voice when you draw, when you paint? No. You are seated before a piece of paper; you stand before a canvas. In your hand you have a pen, a brush, a pencil. You do not think of anything. Perhaps you are hungry, perhaps you are thirsty when you start working. Beware of any inspiration, follow the stroke of your hand, trust yourself and know that a painting is never finished. That is the way you should work. Don't answer questions from anyone. Concerning your painting, do know that nobody is your friend."
